And, it works offline too.Įven as it follows the golden K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Stupid) rule, Google Keep has a few tricks and tips up its menu. Plus, Google Keep is a part of the Google ecosystem and syncs across many of the digital devices you can think of. These quick notes don't need the bloat of features and that's where Google Keep fits in nicely. The latter is for jotting down quick notes. The former does the heavy-lifting and storage. My own workflow includes both Evernote and Google Keep. Google Keep is better for temporary notes, while Evernote is exceptional for keeping things long-term. but it is no Evernote or Microsoft OneNote. Google Keep may be Google's answer to Evernote. Note-taking tools are as much about our individual needs as they are about the habits we form with each of them. This is also not another of those articles where I go to town praising one app over the other. and let's not forget Google is a SEARCH company. Then, you don't need Google Keep or any other from the massive galaxy of digital note-taking apps. It's embarrassing when Apple's apps are more full featured. Since we're on an iOS comparison spree, I should point out that iOS Notes you can search within the Notes app as well as within EACH Note. I completely agree searching within the note is needed, but that's why I'm asking if there are at least temporary workarounds like searching within Keep itself. I wonder if that will at least help OP's case unless the term they're using is common in multiple notes. With that said there is the option to search within Keep, although not within the note. Yet, it's still substantially behind iOS spotlight search. That funcitionality disappeared for many years and didn't come back until Android 12 with the on device search on Pixel launcher. Back in the day I remember you used to be able to search contacts, bookmarks, etc and not just apps. I think it's very unfortunate that iOS Spotlight search completely destroys the on device search on a Pixel. I once searched "AAA" to look for the AAA app and it pulled up a keep note I had when I spoke to my agent about an accident where I noted case numbers and there was a line saying "AAA agent name and phone #." You know what's embarassing? iOS Spotlight search can pull content from Keep notes.
