AMD might mandate that Luminous toggle the bad_port flag in their engine settings. The PC port might be a DX12 trash stutterfest. It might (easily) still fall short of some of the early footage. Will the game end up being a technical showpiece? No idea. You'll find examples to substantiate whatever case you want to make. ![]() Which company sponsors a title doesn't usually mean much in terms of whether the port will be good or not, beyond some features like DLSS etc. Luminous also has a track record of what are generally regarded as pretty good PC ports (well, one), with advanced graphics options, 4k textures, lots of nvidia bells and whistles. The Luminous Engine is among the first to adopt path tracing, which NVIDIA’s Morgan McGuire predicted in his SIGGRAPH 2019 presentation to be fully adopted in game graphics by 2035. The final game was also a technical improvement over the demos for the most part in terms of IQ and performance, though Episode Duscae I think probably had the better lighting model. After all, game engines are a rather hot topic with the recent release of the Matrix Awakens demo for Unreal Engine 5. Given that this is only the second game to use the Luminous Engine, we don’t know much about it, and we were keen to find out more.
